According to the police, Hidayatullah Patel (66) was attacked with a sharp weapon shortly after offering afternoon prayers (namaz) at the Jama Masjid in Mohala village, located in Akot taluka. The assault occurred at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 6.
The accused allegedly stabbed Mr. Patel in the neck and chest, causing severe bleeding. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Akot, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries the next morning.

Police identified the primary accused as Ubed Khan Kalu Khan, also known as Razik Khan Patel (22). Officials stated that the attack was linked to an old personal rivalry.
Six special police teams were formed to trace the suspect. He was arrested around 8 pm on Tuesday from Panaj village in Akot taluka.

Digital and Forensic Investigation Planned
District Superintendent of Police Archit Chandak announced that the case will be investigated by an IPS-rank officer, Akot SDPO Nikhil Patil.
The police will carry out a digital investigation, examining mobile phone records, call data, and WhatsApp communications of all suspects. Forensic teams have already collected evidence from the crime scene.
