Case Filed Against Dattatray Ramdas Gade

Pune police have registered a case against Dattatray Ramdas Gade, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman inside a state transport bus at the busy Swargate Bus Stand on Tuesday morning.

Incident at Swargate Bus Stand

Swargate is one of Maharashtra’s largest State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) hubs. The victim, a working woman, was waiting for her bus early in the morning when the accused approached her.

He misled her by saying that the bus to her village was parked elsewhere and took her near a stationary bus. When she hesitated due to the lack of lights inside the bus, he convinced her to check using a torch. As soon as she entered, the accused locked the door and sexually assaulted her.

Victim Reports Incident, Police Begin Investigation

After the attack, the woman took another bus to her village. Following her friend’s advice, she filed a complaint at the police station.

DCP Smartana Patil confirmed that a case has been registered, and multiple teams have been deployed to track and arrest the accused.

Accused Has Criminal Record

According to Swargate police, Datta Gade has a history of criminal activities, including cases of theft and chain snatching.

Authorities Assure Swift Action

DCP Smartana Patil stated that the victim is stable, and the police are working tirelessly to arrest the accused. “We have identified him and are making all efforts to bring him to justice,” she added.
